CHOLULA, PUEBLA
altar1.jpg (66864 bytes)
An altar in the entrance to the main market in Cholula, in the state of Puebla, about 20 minutes drive from the capital. Already notorious as the town of 328 churches, (almost one church for every day of the year), the townspeople still find it important to place this altar where all who enter the market pass through.

SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS, CHIAPAS
casaaltar1.jpg (59587 bytes)
San Cristobal de Las Casas has some of the most magnificent church buildings in Mexico, like the Church of the Virgin Guadalupe, and the cathedral in the town center. This altar is inside the main dinning room at La Casa del Pan Restaurant in San Cristobal de Las Casas. The interesting thing about this altar is that it encompasses christianity and buddhism, and the saints of the struggling indigenous people.

PUEBLA, PUEBLAaltar2.jpg (64960 bytes)
This is one of the many altars located at the main bus terminal of the city of Puebla. The bus depot which is as big as an airport with different wings, is equally fitted with elegant altars at strategic points. This one is located outside in the area where all who arrive at the bus terminal board another bus into the city of Puebla and neighboring towns.
