A most interesting and original book. From the photos in this book, we can appreciate the changes that have developed over time in Chiapas, and how this is reflected in the indigenous communities. In coordination with the cultural association of Na Bolom, a selection of the photos made by Gertrude Duby Blom in the fifties is compared with photos from the Indigenous Photography Archive (taken between 1995 and 2000) in order to observe and know more about the people and culture reflected in the images in this book. Here we can appreciate the changes in the Mayan culture of Chiapas between 1950 and 1999. These changes are reflected in the customs, clothing and influences of the society over three generations.
