A Campo Traviesa
is a spirited Mexican Celtic band, formed in Mexico City in 1982, and consisting of violinist Marguerite Elliott, Alejandro Arechiga on guitar and mandolin, Hector Cruz on electric bass and mandola, Manuel Ugarte on mandolin, guitar and recorder, Sergio Eckstein on violin, Raul Tudon on percussion, and Kippy Nigh on silver and wooden transverse flutes and penny whistle. The band has performed throughout Mexico City and the country of Mexico, has an enthusiastic following, and has cut two CD's: Musica Celta: Driada and En La Plaza de Coyoacan. Cassettes are also available of these discs.

Musica Celta: Driada
An outstanding selection of Celtic Music from Galicia, Ireland, Brittany, France, England and Australia. Imaginative and pleasing arrangements made by A Campo Traviesa. This is a disc to enjoy for years and makes a great gift for anyone. Full of life. Beautiful.

En La Plaza de Coyoacan
Here's an expertly recorded selection of some of A Campo Traviesa's repertoire from their street-playing years in the famous Plaza of Coyoacan, Mexico City. The group played every Sunday for the animated Mexican public who became their faithful fans. Thus, A Campo Traviesa paved the way for other street musicans to follow, making the plaza a living music and arts center.
